With all of us staying home, it’s easy to forego your haircare routine – but this is your friendly reminder not to do that! Hair masks are a great way to give you hair the care it deserves without a big fuss. That’s why we’re guiding you through 3 easy-to-make DIY hair mask recipes, each using only 2 ingredients that all can be found in your kitchen!
Smoothing Hair MaskArgan Oil
Frizz is usually the result of dryness. Both Argan Oil and avocado are naturally rich, full of nourishing fatty acids that help deliver a hydrating boost to dry hair to help lay down annoying flyaways, and add shine and softness to your strands.
What to do:
Scoop out the insides of one avocado and place it in a food processor along with 4 TSBP of Argan Oil. Blend into a creamy consistency. (Don’t worry if this is too much, you can save what you don’t use on your hair in a jar and store it in the fridge for later use).
Apply the mask onto clean, damp hair massaging thoroughly from the root to ends. Let the mask sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing out.
Deep Conditioning Hair MaskCoconut Oil with Vitamin E
If your hair has difficulty retaining moisture or prone to dryness, our deep conditioning hair mask can help. Our Organic Coconut Oil with Vitamin E is rich in antioxidants and beauty-boosting essential fatty acids that help moisturize and soften dry hair. Though eggs sound like an unappealing ingredient, they are rich in protein which helps keep hair feeling healthy.
What to do:
Melt 3 TBSP of our Organic Coconut Oil with Vitamin E in a microwave-safe bowl in 30 seconds intervals. Once fully melted, remove from microwave and add in the egg. Whisk to combine.
Apply the mask to clean, dry or damp hair. This mask will be runny so it’s best to apply while in the tub and cover the hair with a shower cap! Let the mask sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing out.
Nourishing Hair & Scalp MaskJamaican Black Castor Oil
Dryness is the culprit for many hair problems including breakage – that’s why we paired our Jamaican Black Castor Oil and banana together. Rich in nutrients and vitamins, these two ingredients help deeply nourish and hydrate dry hair.
What to do:
Peel one banana and blend into a food processor until smooth. Scoop mixture into a bowl and using a spoon stir in 3 TBSP of our Jamaican Black Castor Oil to combine. Blend until smooth.
Apply mask from root to tips, focusing on dry, damaged areas like the ends of hair. Let the mask sit for 15- 20 minutes before rinsing out.
