Summer is in full swing, so we decided to round up our favorite DIY beauty hacks to keep you refreshed, cool, and glowing all season long! How are you beating the heat this summer? Share your DIYs in the comments.
A Sandal Ready Scrub
Summer season might as well be called sandal season because you'll seldom catch any of us wearing anything but breezy footwear once the heat is on. Before you slip on your slides, though, be sure to kick dry heels to the curb with a DIY Foot Scrub. Gently massage a salt or sugar based scrub on softened feet, concentrating on culprit dry areas like the heels and balls of the feet, follow with a rinse then you’re all set.
A Natural Wave Spray
Rock beach waves all summer long with a DIY salt spray. Just combine warm water, a dash of sea salt, organic Coconut Oil, and a few drops of your favorite essential oil in a spray bottle and spray on damp or dry hair for effortless waves.
A Reef Safe DIY Sunscreen
PSA: You should be wearing sunscreen every day, no matter the season. But summer is an especially fun time to get crafty and make your own homemade version. Using non-nano zinc oxide, our DIY Sunscreen formula is completely mineral based and reef-safe, so you can stay protected while protecting our oceans too. Not down with DIY? Try our ready-made mineral spf.
Skin Cooling Aloe Cubes
There are few things more satisfying than slathering Aloe Vera Gel on dehydrated skin after spending the day out in the sun. But have you tried aloe ice cubes? Just pour some Aloe Vera gel into an ice cube tray and freeze. Simply glide your frozen aloe cubes over your face and body to rehydrate skin and give it a dose of cooling comfort – thank us later.
A Hydrating Hair Mask
We’re all well aware of the damaging effects that prolonged sun exposure can have on our skin, but few of us consider the effects the sun’s rays have on our hair. UVA/UVB rays can cause damage to the hair cuticle, making hair dry and brittle. Combat the dryness by treating hair to a homemade Coconut Oil hair mask. Feeling the effects of sun damage on your scalp? Use our Organic Castor Oil as a nourishing scalp treatment.
