As we all experience the effects of COVID-19, there are many members of our community who need our help. In times like these, supporting one another is the most important thing we can do. We know not everyone has the means to pitch in, but for those who can, here are some organizations that need our support to better help serve our community members being impacted the most.
With over 200 food banks spread across the U.S., Feeding America helps bring meals to more than 46 million people through food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other community-based agencies.
A number of students are dependent on their schools for meals. As education facilitates close their doors, Save the Children comes in to help. A global leader in child-focused humanitarian crisis, this organization rallies resources to provide recovery programs and relief not only to families in the U.S. but around the globe.
Right now, our elderly community is most at risk. Meals on Wheels is helping serve older, homebound adults – and has been doing so for more than 50 years – by delivering delicious and nutritious meals right to their doorsteps.
“Domestic workers are the nannies that take care of our children, the house cleaners that bring order to our home, and the care workers that ensure that our loved ones can live with dignity and independently.”
National Domestic Workers Alliance provides emergency assistance to domestic workers who have been forced to stop work in order to stay safe and healthy.
As a Miami-based brand, we can see the impact of COVID-19 right in our own backyard. As tourism halts and restaurants close, many are left without work. The Restaurant Worker’s Community Foundation is a relief fund for individual restaurant workers facing economic hardships and health crisis during these times.
