5 Tips for Working From Home

Now that many of us are working remotely, it can be difficult to bridge the gap between home life with office life and create an atmosphere that feels productive, but it doesn’t have to be a challenge. Here’s how the Sky Organics team is making working from home a seamless process.

Set up a workspace

Having a designated workspace conditions the brain into a focused mindset when you enter that area. It also allows anyone you live with to know you are working and not to be interrupted.

 Taking breaks

Just like with working at the office, it’s important to take breaks to stretch, walk around the house, get a drink of water, and refresh the mind. If you have pets, taking the time to let them out into the yard or giving them a little pat on the head will not only cheer you up, but it can help keep our attention-loving furry friends at bay while we work!

Getting dressed

Now is the perfect time to take advantage of not having a morning commute and give yourself some extra TLC! It’s easy to fall into the habit of throwing on sweatpants and an oversize sweatshirt when working remote. No one is going to see us anyway, right? But getting ready, just like having a designated workspace, helps put our brain into a working mindset, and makes us feel better and more motivated for the upcoming day. So, go ahead, do a winged eyeliner and wear your nicest outfit!

Morning stretch

Not leaving the house for work means our bodies are less active than usual. Stretching in the morning helps kick-start energy levels so we can shake off that feeling of grogginess from the night beforeStretching also helps loosen up stiff muscles by releasing tension and stress, so you can start your day feeling great!

Keep a to-do list

What feels better than marking things off as complete? When working from home, one of the most important things is having a structured routine. A to-do list gives us just that, by letting us know what needs to get done each day.
