5 Non-Sleep Related Uses For Lavender Oil

We all know Lavender Essential Oil works wonders when it comes to calming the nerves and getting you ready for a good night’s sleep. But there are a few reasons why this essential oil continues to be one of the most sought-after of the bunch – here are our favorite ways to use this versatile oil.

1. As a Soothing Bath Oil

Lavender’s natural antiseptic and antibacterial qualities make it the perfect addition to any cleansing ritual. Next time you draw yourself a warm bath, add 10-20 drops of the oil for added antioxidants and skin-soothing benefits. You’ll smell great afterward, too.

2. As a Spot Treatment for Blemishes

A known anti-inflammatory, Lavender oil is great at calming down angry blemishes and treating the redness and swelling they bring on. Just dilute a drop of the essential oil in your preferred carrier oil (we recommend Jojoba for this) and gently dab directly on the zit. It should be noticeably calmed and reduced in size by morning!

3. As a Stimulating Hair Treatment

When combined with a carrier oil and massaged into the scalp, Lavender Essential Oil has been shown to help stimulate hair follicles to promote new growth. We love combining it with our Organic Virgin Coconut Oil and Argan Oil for an ultra-nourishing hair mask.

4. As a Pain/Cramp Reliever

Lavender Oil has been found to be effective when used as a pain relieving massage oil. Whether you’re dealing with headaches or menstrual cramps, diluting lavender oil in a carrier oil and gently massaging it on your temples or your abdomen is an all-natural way to help relieve the discomfort they cause.

5. As a Natural Insect Repellant

It smells way better than most insect repellants, and it has been shown to keep pesky insects and mosquitos at bay. Dilute 10 drops of Lavender Oil in 8 oz. of water and mist your body (and clothes) before venturing out into insect-heavy areas!
