Do-It-Yourself Clarifying and Calming Face Oil


One of the biggest misconceptions in the skincare world is that oils cause acne. While truthfully, the opposite is true. Using the right oil for your skin type can moisturize skin and keep it balanced, both of which will prevent your skin from producing excess oils which can cause acne later down the line.


This Clarifying Facial Oil recipe harnesses the anti-inflammatory powers of our 100% pure Hemp Seed Oil, which combats redness and calms angry irritated skin, and the lightweight balancing properties of Jojoba Oil, which hydrates the skin without feeling heavy or clogging pores. Jojoba Oil is also the most similar to our skin’s natural oils, which makes it extremely effective at balancing your moisture levels and keeping your skin from producing excess sebum. Tea Tree Oils antibacterial properties help minimize blemishes and clarify skin, while Peppermint Essential Oil adds an extra anti-inflammatory boost while making this mixture feel cooling on the skin. This oil is ideal for oily / acne-prone skin types, but those with dryer skin can easily substitute the jojoba oil for their carrier oil of preference, like Grapeseed or Argan. As with any new facial treatment, it is important to test this formula on a small patch of skin before applying all over. Happy DIY!



1 oz. of Jojoba Oil

1 oz. of Hemp Seed Oil

2 drops of Peppermint EO

3-5 drops of Tea Tree EO


Combine your carrier oils in a bowl until thoroughly mixed, then add in the essential oils. Afterward, deposit your blend into a dark glass dropper bottle. The darker the glass, the longer the integrity of the ingredients will be preserved. We recommend storing your oil in the refrigerator for added anti-inflammatory properties. Apply your serum nightly before bed, after cleansing.
