Do It Yourself: Exfoliating Pumpkin Face Mask

Pumpkins aren’t just for carving jack-o-lanterns or making pie. Turns out they’re full of natural enzymes that are great for gently dissolving dry skin cells. That’s why we’re ending spooky season with a DIY treat—an exfoliating pumpkin face mask to soften and refresh skin.

What you’ll need:

  • One can of Pumpkin Puree

Grapeseed Oil is full of vitamin E which helps hydrate dry areas. It is lightweight and non-greasy too, so it maintains moisture without clogging pores.

    • 2 TSBP of Organic Honey— to moisturize

Honey contains antibacterial properties and is a natural skin-soother – making it great for combating blemishes and providing comforting hydration to skin.
  • 2 TSBP of Brown Sugar— to exfoliate

Softer than regular sugars, Brown Sugar gives this mask extra exfoliating power and helps lift and remove dirt and impurities.

Rosehip oil is a natural source of vitamins A and C that help brighten the look of skin and maintain its moisture barrier.

  • Measuring spoons
  • A bowl
  • A face brush

What to do:

Pour your pumpkin puree into a bowl. Add in 2 TSBP of brown sugar, 2 TSBP of honey, 2 TSBP of grapeseed oil, and 3 or so drops of rosehip oil. Mix well so that your oils and honey are absorbed into the pumpkin. If you have a face brush or even a spoon you can use that to scoop the pumpkin and place it onto your face. Take caution when around eyes! Now, kick up your legs and tilt back—maybe take a selfie or two and tag us on Instagram so we can see those orange faces! After 10-15 minutes remove the mask, gently rubbing the puree and exfoliating your skin as you wash it off with warm water. How does your skin feel? Soft, right?
