Shea Butter 101

Shea Butter is the perfect companion. It protects your skin, compliments any oil, and offers many benefits all on its own. Read on to learn more about this moisturizing butter, its benefits, and how to use it.

What is Shea Butter?

Shea Butter is a vegetable fat extracted from the Shea tree. Its use has even been traced all the way back 2000 years to Cleopatra. To this day, it is the most moisturizing and rich cosmetic butter you can find.

Unrefined vs. Refined Shea Butter

There are two versions on the market, unrefined & refined, but ours is unrefined, which means that it was not processed with the use of chemicals and bleaches, so it maintains all of its vitamins and antioxidants.

What Benefits Does it Have?

Shea Butter has so many uses - the possibilities are endless. It’s a multipurpose single-ingredient butter that delivers ultra-rich, lasting moisture to dry skin to keep it radiant, smooth and nourished. You can use it at night to keep your skin soft while you rest, as a body moisturizer to soften your whole body, and even melt it down to make your own DIY soaps, hair masks and body butters.

For Which Skin Type?

Since our Shea Butter is unrefined and has no added ingredients, anyone can benefit from using it! It naturally contains vitamins A and E as well as essential fatty acids that are especially beneficial for dry or rough skin types because they work to deliver deep, long-lasting hydration for your skin.

How to Use it?

Scoop a small amount of it and warm it up between your hands by rubbing them together. When the thick butter melts down into a rich cream,, you can apply it to clean, dry skin or wherever it feels like you could use a bit of moisturizing love.
