Summer is officially here – which means we’re ready to (safely) spend some time soaking up the sun! Just like how you change your wardrobe each season, your skin routine deserves a switch up too. Here’s how we’re keeping our skin happy and protected all summer long ☀️👇

Lighten Up Your Moisturizer

In the words of Allure, “if you’re not wearing a winter coat, why should your skin?” With the hot sun making us more prone to sweating, our skin needs something that feels light and refreshing. That’s why we recommend swapping out thick cream and gel moisturizers for dry face oils like Marula Oil which helps bring moisture and balance to all skin types and most importantly, is non-comedogenic!

Raw Butters to Whipped Butter

For the same reason we don’t want you wearing thick, cream moisturizers is the same reason you should swap from raw butters to whipped butters. Whipped butters like our Almond Butter Body carries the same vitamins and moisture your skin loves but in a smooth, lightweight texture!

Add SPF 

We sure hope you’ve been wearing sunscreen all year round – but it especially becomes a staple in the summer! We recommend using a sunscreen that is marked at SPF 30 or higher to protect skin and applying from head-to-toe. Pro-tip: Apply sunscreen after moisturizing and before makeup. 

Always Exfoliate

Exfoliating is our friend always – and even more so in the summer. You can make your own DIY exfoliating body scrub and use it one to two times a week to scrub off all the dirt and dead skin cells that build up while having fun in the sun.

Masking is your BFF

 Our face is the most exposed part of us, so the hotter temperatures can leave our face feeling dry and dehydrated. Using face masks like our Indian Healing Clay Mask or Dead Sea Mud Mask is a great way to pull out all the dead cells and dirt that sits on top of your face while still bringing in the moisture your skin deserves!
