‘Tis the season for fuzzy socks, festive tunes and warm candles! 2020 was definitely not the best year for anyone, and given the circumstances, it’s also not the best time to go out to buy holiday gifts. In reality, there’s no need to because there are so many gifts that you can create right at home! And let’s face it, nothing says “I thought of you” more than a homemade gift.
Follow these easy recipes to create the perfect DIY gifts for everyone:
This first one is by far the easiest! Everyone loves a candle, and someone who claims they don’t hasn’t met the right candle for them. And the best part about DIY candles is that you can add in whatever essential oil you think the person receiving your gift will like the best. To make it:
Step 1: Melt down your Beeswax Pellets until smooth.
Step 2: Add in a few drops of your favorite Essential Oil like: Lavender or Tea Tree
Step 3: Tape down the wick to your mason jar and pour in the mixture and let dry!
DIY Body scrub
Our DIY Body Scrub is easy to make and feels delicious on the skin! It’s a perfect gift for relaxation and some self care, which we all need this year. Follow these directions to make it:
Step 1: Using the double boiler method melt down the ½ cup of Shea Butter and ¼ cup of Fractionated Coconut Oil over medium heat until smooth.
Step 2: Drop in your favorite Essential Oil and store in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Step 3: Use an electric mixer to whip up your mixture and add in ⅓ cup of brown sugar.
Step 4: Store in a mason jar and you’re good to go!
DIY Reed Diffuser
Although candles are easy and fun gifts, reed diffusers are very original and easy to make! They can be pretty pricey if you want to purchase one, but if you make it at home not only is it much cheaper, but you can also customize it with your favorite ingredients! Here’s how to make it:
Step 1: Pour ½ cup of Sweet Almond Oil into a ceramic vase.
Step 2: Add in 30-50 drops of your favorite Essential Oil and shake well to combine.
Step 3: Stick in 5-8 reed diffuser sticks. And voíla, you’re done!
DIY Bath Tea
Give the gift of a relaxing and skin nourishing bath with this DIY herbal bath tea recipe! It’s easy to make and ideal for gift giving. Here’s how to make it:
Step 1: Mix in 3-5 drops of your favorite Essential Oil with 3 tbsp. of Epsom Salt in an organza bag.
Step 2: Layer in a tablespoon of each of your favorite dry flowers like: lavender, calendula, chamomile, and/or roses.
Step 3: Knot the bag closed and store in an airtight jar until it is ready to be used. To use it, just drop the bag into warm bath water.
