Beauty Day—a time to stand up
against greenwashing and
shed light on the impact of
pure and potent beauty care.
History of Clean Beauty Day
Did you know that 2024 marks the fifth annual National Clean Beauty Day? It’s an important occasion that aligns well with the work we’re doing at Sky Organics. Our cruelty-free, Leaping Bunny-certified brand lives and breathes the values of the clean beauty movement. Eco-friendly packaging materials, and a commitment to certified organic ingredients, are just the beginning. Even Sky Organics’ origin story reflects a desire to share clean, pure, and potent beauty care. When our co-founder—my brother Steven—and his wife Sara Jade became parents, they were committed to living more sustainably. They also wanted to develop a personal care routine that would reduce their exposure to harmful chemicals. Yet Sara Jade grew frustrated in her search.
She was tired of:
• Confusing “natural” claims
• Complicated ingredients lists
• Highly processed formulations
• Wasteful packaging
• Watered-down formulas and “fairy dusting” of beneficial ingredients
Founded in 2015, Sky Organics is living proof that self-care essentials can be made simply and responsibly. As Chief Sustainability Officer, I understand just how important it is to prioritize ingredients with purpose—for consumers in general, for our community, and for my own family.
About Our Commitment to Clean Beauty
Sky Organics is more than a personal care brand. We’re a certified B Corporation that wants to be held accountable. We genuinely believe in the clean beauty movement, and our product standards are a testament to how much we care.
Purposeful Ingredients
Our botanically-based products are meant to enhance consumers’ clean beauty routine. They’re also formulated as simply as possible. Many items—like our Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil—are made with a single purposeful ingredient. Oh, and these same ingredients are grown and harvested free from chemicals and pesticides. The purity and the potency of our products are central to our mission, which means we don’t dilute them with water or inexpensive fillers. All of our personal care items feature ingredients from nature at a meaningful level.
Organic Certification
We don’t just pay lip service to USDA Organic Certification. We pursue it whenever we can. Certified organic products are made with integrity, minimally processed, and better for the planet. And in the case organic certification isn’t possible due to material limitations (like with products made from minerals, clays, and salts), we still use ingredients that represent the purest form of natural.
Health Impact Ratings
We want our partners to help us practice what we preach. Organizations like Yuka, which gives personal care products unique health impact ratings, do exactly that. Yuka’s independent mobile app ensures our products have a positive impact on people, animals, and the world around us. You can see it all for yourself by downloading the app here.
Organic Cotton
We proudly offer pure, sustainable cotton products. Certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), these products are manufactured without chemicals and in a safe work environment. Additionally, the Natural Cotton seal on our packaging is proof that our cotton is harvested responsibly, from seed and soil preparation to weed management and beyond. It also reinforces that our production methods are safe and of the lowest possible impact.
Sustainability Commitment
Your well-being means a lot to us—and so does the health of our environment. When you choose Sky Organics, you can rest easy knowing our ingredients are grown to promote biodiversity, water conservation and better soil quality. The farmers, wildlife and bees that rely on our ecosystems all benefit.
Committed to the climate crisis, we’ve planted over 28,000 trees to date through our partnership with Ecologi. And yet another partnership with Pact Collective makes recycling easy. Because from where we’re standing, clean beauty should benefit our consumers. It should be accessible too.
The idea is to provide gentle, non-toxic products that support and nourish the skin—for everyone. Only then can we work toward a cleaner, safer environment. And in the meantime, let’s raise a glass to the fifth annual National Clean Beauty Day.
